Dr Claudio Weiss

How did you come across TM and what made you want to learn it in the first place?

I learned TM as a high school student directly from Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, with whom my father, one of the first TM teachers in Germany, worked closely at the time. I found the completely natural, effortless sinking inwards very pleasant and didn’t want to do without this as part of my daily life anymore.

How long have you been practicing and teaching TM?

So now I have been meditating regularly since – I hardly dare to write it – 1966! It belongs to my “neuro and soul” hygiene routine, just as daily showering belongs to my personal hygiene routine.

What do you do when you’re not teaching TM?

I advise and educate people within my own company. My most important instruments are self-developed motivational psychological online tools, for which I also train coaches (often doctors and therapists).

What does it bring to your life?

Without regular meditation, complemented by my intensive engagement with Vedic philosophy and psychology, I would never have been able to develop my online tools. For my work with people, the most important success factor is the quality of my attention. This is something like the light of a flashlight. When I meditate, I go to the light source. Then the batteries recharge.

What advice would you give to someone who is interested in learning TM?

Acquire this technique which, because it’s totally natural, is completely effortless and most enjoyable, to go on holidays to yourself again and again! This will constantly enrich your life from the inside out and massively support your personal development!

Can you describe the significance of TM in what could be called your spiritual development?

Decades of regular meditation have enormously expanded and deepened my inner life – my perception, feeling and thinking – and thus my access to the world. This process continues constantly, even with increasing intensity. This is perhaps the greatest benefit I have drawn and continue to draw from TM.
